Barry Smith playing the 'Heimarc Waltz' Our guest player at our January 'Zoom' club night was our good friend Barry Smith from the Black Country Club, organiser of the Midlands Accordion Festival and editor of the Accordion Post magazine. Along with some 20 club member performances, Barry kept us entertained with a varied programme including a couple of his own compositions, as is this video piece. Many thanks Barry. Barry's composition, 'Heimarc' is named after his children, Heidi and Marcus, and can be found on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEh8EKB3aSGSeTh9NG0C8vQ/videos or Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/northstaffsaccordionclub Barry is being interviewed at 9.15 am on Sunday 24th January 2021 on Wolverhampton Radio (FM 101.8 MHz). . ![]() |
Heather Smith, editor of the 'Accordion Porofile' had decided to discontinue publishing the magazine with immediate effect. Our chairman has sent the following message to her:
Dear Heather,
I'm sorry to hear that you are going to discontinue publishing the Accordion Profile, Heather. It has been a huge part of the accordion scene of the country. With the lack of live music activity through the pandemic it must have been desperately hard for you over the past months and it is probably wise for you to retire and gain more time in your life for other things.
Our very best wishes from the North Staffs Accordion Club where we hope to see you again as a guest in the not too distant future.
Best Wishes, 1steve Hughes |
‘O Holy Night’ is a well-known Christmas carol composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847. The North Staffs Accordion Band members created this festive video during the 2020 lockdown, and wish you a very merry Christmas. This is a stereo recording so, best listened to on headphones. |
Our new YouTube channel has been running for 2 months and already has had 1,595 hits and 50 hrs of viewing. We'd love more viewings and subsribers. Please make our day by viewing and subscribing. Click the link below to access the channel. | |
